Welcome back to Michaela and the choir at 11am Mass. Music is an essential part of our parish liturgies, and our choirs help us to praise and worship God. Both choirs welcome new members. From October, our Saturday Night Choir will practice every other Tuesday evening after Mass and sing at every other Saturday evening Mass. Our Sunday Community Choir will initially return once or twice a month at the 11am Mass on a Sunday, with a practice just before Mass. We urgently require another person, musician or group to lead our music during alternate Saturday evening or Sunday morning Masses. This is a paid role and may suit someone who is studying music and has an interest in religious music. For more information speak to Fr Declan or contact Catherine in the Parish Office. Growing In Faith Together Programme. Monday 14th Sep 2026 in Aghagallon Community Centre from 7.30pm-9pm for Year 8’s . Children’s Liturgy . Welcome back to all of the children and the leaders of Children’s Liturgy. Sacramental Preparation for Children in Non-Catholic Schools. Faith development is primarily the responsibility of parents. However, in Aghagallon and Ballinderry parish we try to emphasise the partnership between home, school and Church. If you choose to send your child to a non-Catholic school and would like to present them for First Penance (P3), First Holy Communion (P4) or Confirmation (P7) in the parish this year they must be prepared appropriately. Please contact their teacher to ensure that they are part of a catechetical programme and enrol them in children’s liturgy in the parish. If schools do not provide sacramental preparation, the parish can assist with providing classes. Please contact Catherine in the parish office to collect an application form. MINISTRY OF WELCOME Booking Masses, Baptisms and Weddings As parish office opening hours have been reduced slightly, we are returning to our previous practice of booking Masses, baptis ms and weddings in person, in the sacristy after Masses. Masses can be booked well in advance to ensure your preferred dates ar e available. Baptisms can only be booked by the child’s parent or legal guardian. At least o ne month’s notice is required. To book a baptism parents must present the child’s long birth certificate , complete the baptism request form, meet with one of our Baptism team and attend weekly Mass during the month prior to the date of the Baptism Weddings can be booked by the couple themselves. Couples are required to give at least six months’ notice of marriage to ensure the preferred date is available and that there is adequate time to complete all Civil and Church paperwork. & Derrykeighan CAUSEWAY FAMILY OF PARISHES13th September 2026 Twenty Fourth Sunday of Ordinary Time FORGIVENESS WITHOUT LIMIT In todayÕs Gospel, Jesus continues last week's teaching on conßict with the parable of the unforgiving servant. A king forgives a servant an unpayable debt (worth billions in today's money) only for that servant to refuse mercy to a colleague who owes him a much smaller sum. The king's anger reveals the lesson: having received such extraordinary mercy, the servant should have shown it in turn. We too are debtors before God, and Christ has already paid what we could never repay. But receiving that gift means extending it to others Ñ even when forgiveness feels impossible. If weÕre Christians we have to be serious about seeking forgiveness and forgiving others. Confession deepens our experience of God's mercy; practising forgiveness in small daily moments builds the habit for harder ones.

You have been defrauded by the banks of your life's savings - can you forgive? You were abused as a child - can you forgive? You were done outofajob because another lied togetit - can you forgive? The answer is maybe 'no'. What then does God want? He asks us to open our hearts to the other so that we may forgive. Forgiveness is the deepest of God's desires on our behalf, and he hopes that we can forgive each other. Our hurts and burdens are heavy to carry through life. To forgive can release some of that weight. The person who hurt usmaybe dead, ormaynot even know (or care) that we are hurting. When we desire to forgive but don't know how, onewayof looking for this strength is to pray forit. We often pray, 'Lord, make my heart like yours'. When we pray that we are praying to be forgiving people! Another wayisto pray for the person. When we realise that as God loves me, he also loves everyone, we may find a spark or light of forgiveness in our souls. PARKING ATST PATRICK'S CHUR CH Last week a young child on a bicycle was almost knocked down as she attempted to cross the Coolkeeran Road outside the Church. She had correctly chosen the spot where the Kerb is lowered to accommodate pedestrians moving to and from the Church Car park. However, vehicles had been parked on the road outside the Church gate and she wasn't immediately seen by the driver of the oncoming vehicle. Fortunately she wasn't physically hurt. As parishioners will be aware, the Coolkeeran Road is an arterial road within the parish, the Coolkeeran / Lough Road junction isoneofthe busiest within our parish. It is imperative that parishioners take action now , change practice and park at all times in the Church car park andnotonthe road outside the Church gate. Sunday Gospel
The story of the unforgiving servant is a lesson in what faithful forgiveness means. At the heart of forgiveness there is a grace. Grace is something that cannot be contained or controlled. Grace shows us that where there is real mercy and forgiveness, there is sharing and generosity. Put simply it means that if you fully receive the mercy of God, it will compel you to share it, tobe kind and merciful to your neighbour. Itisa difficult notion to understand it a world, or economy, where we are encouraged to be selfish and greedy and make sure that, ‘nobody will make a fool outofme’. Time to get real about faith: if you seek and accept God’s forgiveness its fruit is the forgiveness you will share with others. (Fr S Crumptor).
