LEGION OF MARY
The Legion of Mary is a lay association of pious, Marian
Catholics, who specialise in both prayer and work. They meet
at 7pm every Friday in St. Mary’s Church, Greencastle.
BAPTISMS: Baptisms are taking place on Saturdays in St

BLESSING OF SCHOOL BAGS
This weekend, 12th & 13th September, Fr
David will be blessing the school bags of
all children returning to school. We
warmly invite the children and young
people of our parish to bring their school bag to any of
the Vigil Masses or Sunday Masses in the parish.
We pray for our children and young people as they
return to school. May God keep them in His care. May
the Holy Spirit open their minds to all that is true,
beautiful and good.

LOUGHSHORE SACRAMENTAL CLASS
Parents of children attending non Catholic schools, or
children who previously missed out on making their
sacraments, wishing to be prepared for sacraments in
2027 should register their interest by forwarding the
following information to
loughshoresacraments@gmail.com
- Child’s name & school
- Preparation classes required for first penance &
communion OR for confirmation.
- Parent or g uardian’s name and contact number
Registration is open until 4th October.
First Penance and Communion classes begin on Sunday
18th October in St. James Hall at 12pm. These classes
are run fortnightly until May. The cost is £30 for books
and materials. Confirmation classes will not begin until
after the transfer tests are completed. More information
to follow.
PIONEER GATHERING
Sunday 27th September - A meeting for all
Pioneers who are interested in helping to
renew and strengthen the Pioneer
Association in Down & Connor will take
place on Sunday 27th September at 3.00pm in Holy
Family Gathering Space, Holy Family Church,
Newington Avenue, Belfast.
This gathering is open to all Pioneers, especially those
who would like to support a fresh start, new energy, and
renewed commitment within our diocese. We would be
delighted to welcome as many Pioneers as possible.
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
Down & Connor Diocese is renewing and
developing its Diocesan Adoration Lay
Committee in order to increase the practice
of Eucharistic Adoration in parishes
throughout the Diocese. You are welcome to attend an
Information Meeting at ONE of these venues:

Ireland set up a small stall after Masses to sell
Trócaire’s Gifts of Change — meaningful gifts that
make a real difference to families living in poverty
around the world. We provide everything you
need including training and support. All we ask is a
little time and a big heart. Last Christmas, 50
parishes took part — and we’d love to grow that
number even more this year! If you would like to find
