Baptisms take place in St. Patrick’s
on the 1st & 3rd weekends and in
St. Agatha’s Church on the 2nd & 4th
weekends of each month.
Baptisms are held on Saturdays at
4: 00 pm or Sundays at 1: 00 pm.
Baptismal Preparation course takes
place in the Parish Centre on the
last Tuesday of each month for all
families requiring their child to be
baptised.
Weddings
Please allow at least four months’
notice for weddings in the parish.

Alpha
The Alpha is a 10-week series of sessions
exploring the basics of the Christian faith.
Alpha provides a safe space for people of all
ages to discuss life, meaning and faith in a
friendly and informal environment.
Each Alpha session start with a bit of social
time and a cup of tea or something to eat.
There is then a video on some aspects of the
faith which includes a discussion on the
topic with a small group. This time is an
opportunity for people to discuss aspects of
faith in a very friendly and informative
manner. Alpha is open to everyone who
wants to explore the Christian faith,
particularly those who know little or nothing
about it at present and would want to find
out more.
If anyone is interested in finding out a bit
more about Alpha or being part of the next
course in the parish starting in September,
please contact the Parish Office with your
details or speak with Fr. James or any
member of the Parish Council. For further

Lost Rosary Beads - A pair of blue wooden
rosary beads in a small brown pouch have
gone missing from the church. They are of
great sentimental value. If found, please
return them to the church or the Parish
Centre. Thank you.
Cursillo - There will be a Cursillo friendship
night in Donegal Town on Wednesday the
9th of September at 7:30pm in the Church
of Ireland hall. All Cursillo members very
welcome.
Donegal Town Community Alert - Donegal
Town Community Alert reps will be calling to
homes in the area to inform people of how the
scheme operates, and collect telephone
numbers of those who wish to be included.
Anyone wishing to be an Area Rep for the group
can contact Rory O’Donnell at 087 2456 994.
Donegal Group 173 Rise and Shine Trust
(formerly The Irish Handicapped
Children ’s Pilgrimage Trust and The Irish
Pilgrimage Trust ) are celebrating forty
years of taking young people with special needs
to Lourdes each Easter.
We are celebrating with a special Mass on
Saturday 26th Sept in the Church of the Irish
Martyrs, Letterkenny at 12 noon. The Mass will
be concelebrated by Bishop Niall Coll and
Bishop Donal Mc Keowan, Bishop of
Derry and many of the priests who travelled to
Lourdes with us over the years. We invite all
the guests and their families and all the helpers
who travelled with us over the years to our
Mass to celebrate the work of the Donegal
Group over these forty years.
Family Carer of the Year Awards – Help us find
Ireland’s Family Carer & Young Carer of the year
2026. Nominate a family carer or young carer
you know today to recognise the extraordinary
work of those who go above and beyond every
day caring for their loved ones at home.

HLI Ireland: Fr Lawrence Carney (USA),
international speaker and popular author,
Provincial Tour of Ireland. Join us for the Ulster
event at the Canal Court Hotel, Newry, on
Tuesday 29th September at 6:45pm, with a First
Class Relic of St Thérèse. Free admission.
Healing Sunday – Rossnowlagh Friary
Our Healing Service will be held this Sunday,
September 6th starting with Rosary at 2.45pm
and followed by Mass/Anointing at 3pm.
Confessions before and after the Service.

Annual Pilgrimage to Knock Shrine in honour of
St. Pio – Will take place on Sun 20th Sept. Bus
departing from St. Agatha’s Church, Clar at 8am,
Donegal Town at 8.15am (car park at the Old
Stone café and Laghey village at 8.30am. Please

Coffee Morning
A complimentary coffee morning will be held on
this coming Friday 11th of Sept. at
10.30 – 11.30am in St. Patrick’s Parish Centre .

Eucharistic Adoration – St. Patrick’s
Following on from the recent meeting of
those involved in Eucharistic Adoration, it
was agreed to change the hours of
adoration in St. Patrick. This will begin this
Thursday 10th September. The new hours
of adoration in St. Patricks will now take
place between:
2: 00 pm and 8: 00pm each week.
St. John Paul II said of adoration that,
‘Jesus himself is calling you…’
All of us are encouraged to take part in
Eucharistic Adoration to help us grow and
strengthen our relationship and our
closeness to God, the Father, Son and Holy
Spirit. It’s not a time that’s wasted, but a
time that nourishes us in our faith and a
place where we gain a better awareness of
the presence of God with us and his love
for us. Spending time with God in
adoration connects us with God, but also
with one another, as we pray not only for
our own needs but for others as well. It can
also benefit us personally as it offers us
peace, clarity and strength to help us
through all we deal with each day in our
lives. These are just some of the many
blessings and gifts given through adoration.
So please consider giving some time to
Jesus in the Eucharist. “Deepen your prayer
life as well. Spend time praying before the
Eucharist in Eucharistic adoration. These
practises help you to hear God’s voice

Mass for Expectant Families

Eunan’s Cathedral, Letterkenny.

The Hooley in the Hall
Makes a welcome return to your social
dancing calendar next Wednesday 9th
September 8.30-10.30pm. Come along for
a great night of music by Sprig of Heather,
dancing, good company and that lovely
supper. All for €10.
Funds raised on the night will go to UNICEF
Ireland Nepal Flood Disaster Appeal. All
support is very much appreciated.

during the 10am Mass in St. Patrick’s this
Friday morning.
