This event brought together our tal- ented young players for a celebration of sport and commu- nity. Every single child who togged out deserves praise as the standard of football on display was outstanding , show- casing the hard work all these clubs are putting in at train- ing week after week to develop our young players. Have you every asked yourself why God takes anger so seriously and urges us to cast itoutofour lives? One rea- son is because of what it does to other people. When we lash out at someone in anger, we hurt them and create conflict with them —and that is wrong. God also hates our anger because of what it does to us. Anger cuts us off from oth- ers; noone like to be around someone who may explode at any moment. Paróiste Chill Taobhóige Tithe Pobail Ghleann Fhinne agus Leitir Bric Twenty-Eighth- Sunday of —Year A — October 11th 2026 Thoughts on the Gospel for October 11th 2026 We have today another parable about the rejection of Jesus by the leaders ofhisownpeo- ple. Itis, asthe others were, being addressed to the chief priests and elders of the people, the religious and civic leaders. The parable divides clearly into three distinct parts: 1. two invitations sent outtothe intended guests; 2. a general call to all kinds of outcasts; 3. some criteria set for taking part in the Feast. This is a parable about th e Kingdom of God and about the people who will eventually belong toit. Itis seen here under the aspect of a marri age feast for a king’s son. Inthe First Reading from Isaiah we have a graphic description of the great ban quet that the Lord will prepare for his people. There will be rich food and fine wines; there willbe neither mourning nor death: In the Gospel parable, the king sends out his servants, referring tothe long line of prophets sent to the people of Israel calling them to love and service. Jesus says: When God c alls there is always a sense of urgency. The only time to respond isnow. I need always tobeonthe watch, but that is not what happens in the world of today. We are told that those invited were simply not interested. Are we interested? The Pastoral Council met last Tuesday night, and we decided to go ahead with another Bazaar this year. However, we have decided nottogo around the houses this year . But, We will do our best to have plenty of very good and valuable prizes for about 10 or 12 Draws in the Hall and that will in- clude Lambs, Fuel Vouchers, Cash prizes etc and of course a huge 55” Smart TV (Sharp brand) Thank you. Please come out and support our efforts . Anyone who would like to support the Bazaar and cannot attend it, might like to drop a donation into the special boxes in the chapels. Thank You.
