The procession will begin opposite the Market Square, before proceeding through the town towards the Famine Graveyard, High Road POLISH MASS OF THANKSGIVING For the Irish presidency of the Council of Ministers of the European Union, each county has been twinned with an EU member state. Donegal was twinned with Poland. To mark the strong ties between Poland and Donegal through the many Polish families who have made their home here, the Charged-Affaires of the Polish Embassy in Dublin, Mr. Artur Michalski, will be present at a Mass of Thanksgiving at St. Eunan ’s Cathedral on Saturday 17th October next at 4 pm. Fr. Jarek Kurek, a monk of Glenstal Abbey in Co. Limerick, will preach at the Mass. Refreshments afterwards in the Divine Mercy Centre. We would love our Parishioners, Polish and Irish to turn out for this Mass and to mark the many friendships that join our communities. “Isnot this what God asksy ou” (Micah 6:8) The WORKING DOCUMENT FOR THE IRISH NATIONAL SYNODAL ASSEMBLY , taking place in Gormanston, Co Meath, on the 17th October, brings together the fruits of five years of prayer, listening and discernment and will guide delegates as they consider and vote on suggested actions to be presented to the Bishops of Ireland. While the Assembly marks an important moment in the journey, the Synodal Pathway is now moving towards a new phase of implementation. Everyone is invited to read, pray with, and reflect on the Working Document and the question: “What does God want from the Church in Ireland at this time? ” Please pray for all those taking part in the Assembly andforthe guidance of the Holy Spirit. OCTOBER DEVOTIONS are a long tradition that brings us together to pray the rosary in this month of special devotion to our Blessed Mother. Following the Sunday evening Masses in the Cathedral during the month of October, we will have t he Rosary and Benediction. You are encouraged to join us for this time of prayer. The ROSARY will be prayed Tuesday to Friday evening after the 7 pm Mass at Our Lady ’s Altar during October. Monday evenings Rosary will be at 7 pm The annual SERVICE OF REMEM BRANCE for Miscarriage, Still Birth, Neo-Natal death and for Children who have sadly died will take place in the Hospital Chapel, Letterkenny University Hospital today, Sunday 11th October at 3 pm. Youare warmly invited to this very special Remembrance Service by The Management, Chaplaincy Department and Staff of the Hospital.
