Reflection on Todays Gospel
In today ’s Gospel, Peter asks Jesus, “How often must I forgive? ” Jesus ’ answer— “not seven times but
seventy -seven times ”—reminds us that forgiveness is not about keeping count. It is a way of l iving.
The parable of the unforgiving servant shows us the depth of God ’s mercy. We have received forgiveness
far beyond what we could ever earn, yet we can sometimes struggle to extend that same mercy to oth-
ers. Jesus challenges us to remember that the forgiveness we receive from God sh ould overflow into our
relationships.
Forgiving does not mean pretending that hurt never happened. It means c hoosing not to let resentment
have the final word. As we pray the Lord ’s Prayer, “forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who
trespass against us, ” may we ask for the grace to forgive generously, patiently, and from the heart .

Muckno Parish Draw 2026 –2027
We are delighted to launch our Annual Parish Draw for 2026 –2027, and we warmly encourage everyone in the
parish to support it by purchasing a ticket from one of our parish promoters/ Parish OfÏce
The Parish Draw is a very important source of fundraising for our parish. Your support helps us to meet our financial
commitments and, in particular, to repay our parish debt and continue to invest in the future of our parish.
This year, funds raised will also contribute towards the beginning of the construction of a new graveyard in
Castleblayney, Muckno—an important project for our parish and for future generations.
We are very grateful to all our promoters who give generously of their time, and to everyon e who supports the
draw each year. Every ticket makes a difference, and together, through your generosity, we can contin ue to care for
and develop our parish.

last year, Fr John Flanagan, Truagh Parish, returns
to the Íontas Theatre, Tues 3 Nov 8pm, with
Celebrating Hope and Healing, a fusion of
reflections and music. Written and delivered by Fr.
John, his heart felt reflections delve into the
themes of hope, faith, forgiveness and inner
healing, offering the audience solace and
inspiration. The accompanying music is composed
and arranged by Lauren Murphy, Truagh. Book

the Homeless. ALONE Volunteers Needed: Could you spare an
hour a week to support an older person in your com-
munity? ALONE is looking for volunteers to provide
friendship and companionship to older people who
may be experiencing loneliness or isolation. Full
training and ongoing support are provided, and vol-
unteering can make a real difference in someone's
life.
