Jesus said: (Forgive each
other) “Not seven times,
I tell you, but seventy-
seven times. ” The old film
Love Story had the
famous statement in it:
“love means never
having to say sorry” . The
truth is just the opposite.
Love means constantly
having to sasorry because
that is the nature of close
relationships.
Forgiveness is a vital
element in love because
unforgiveness roots us in
the past and in past
events and experiences. Jesus’ word to us this week is to
exercise and develop this power, especially within the
intimate relationships of marriage and family so th at our
homes may be filled with peace and joy. This takes time and
effort on the part of everyone. This power also nee ds to be
exercised within the faith community, which can so easily be
divided by hurts or by rivalries or past histories. And at this
time of scandals in the Church, forgiveness is need ed if we
are ever to move forward with hope.

ICE-CREAM SUNDAY 2026
Our Ice-Cream Sunday raised an amazing
£4,662.12 & 70 Euros towards the Parish.
A special thanks goes to the club committee
for the use of the club and their help during
the weekend.
Thank you to the generous sponsors and the willing volunteers,
without their dedication and hard work the event would not have
been possible.
Our finally thank you goes to you all the parishioners and visitors
who attended and gave so generously.

Fund for Retired Priests Collection
Next weekend Sunday 20th September
there will be a special collection for our
Retired Priests. The Retired Priests Fund
enables the Diocese of Derry to care for
clergy in their retirement, most of whom
remain very active in helping out with parish
ministry. Please use the special envelope
for this collection.
Eucharistic Adoration - The Derry Diocese
is renewing and developing its Diocesan
Adoration Lay Committee in order to
increase the practice of Eucharistic
Adoration in parishes in the diocese. You are
welcome to attend an Information Meeting
on Wed 30th Sept, 8.00pm, in The
Drummond Hotel, Ballykelly.
