As Catholics, we have received the Sacrament of
Reconciliation, which allows us to experience
God’s forgiveness personally. It is a reminder of
His boundless love and mercy. In turn, it should
inspire us to be forgiving and merciful in our
interactions with others.
We must remember that forgiveness is not just a
one -time act but a continuous disposition of the
heart. Let us be mindful of the unforgiving
servant in the parable and strive to be merciful
and forgiving as our Heavenly Father is to us. In
doing so, we bear witness to the transformative
power of God’s love and mercy in
our lives and in the world.

for the Sacrament of Marriage.

THE COLUMBAN YOUNG ADULTS are a new group for those aged 18 - 30 in
the diocese, who are seeking a community of like -minded young adults who have
Christ at the centre of their lives. Our September event will be a Holy Hour and
meditation on Thursday 17 September, 7:00pm at our Lady of Lourdes Church,
Steelstown, Derry, delivered by Fr Declan McGeehan. The meditation will be
followed by Solemn Benediction and light refreshments. We are actively seeking
new members - please come along and bring a friend!
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION Derry Diocese is renewing and developing its
Diocesan Adoration Lay Committee in order to increa se the practice of
Eucharistic Adoration in parishes throughout the diocese. You are welcome to
attend an Information Meeting on Wed 30 Sept, 8pm, in The Drummond Hotel, 2
Main St., Ballykelly. Registration and light refreshments from 7.30pm.
NORTHLANDS ANNUAL COFFEE MORNING Saturday 19 September in
Shantallow Community Centre, BT48 8EN. Drop in anytime between 10am and
1pm for some tea & coffee, cakes (gluten free available), community and
conversations. This is a great way to celebrate recovery, positive c hange and
community. This is a family friendly event, and everyone is welcome.
QUEEN’S UNIVERSITY CATHOLIC CHAPLAINCY reopens for the new
academic year on Monday 14 September, with weekday Masses and our semester
programme resuming. The first Sunday Mass will be celebrated on 20 September
at the new, earlier time of 7pm. Find out about what’s on, ways to connect and get

As the diocese and parishes prepare to celebrate th e joyous occasion of the
Installation of Bishop Michael Router as Bishop of Derry on Sunday
20 September, a Triduum of Masses will be celebrated in parishes throughout
the diocese, on Friday 18, Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September.
In our parishes of Steelstown and Culmore, these Masses will be celebrate d in
Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Steelstown at 10am on Friday 18th, 10am on
Saturday 19th and 9am on Sunday 20th.
All are welcome to attend as we come together as God’s people to pray for
Bishop Router and the people of the diocese, that we may walk together in fa ith
