The Kingdom of Heaven
The vineyard parable in today’s gospel is about the Kingdom of Heaven. The
vineyard owner is God. The labourers are all the people who get an oppor-
tunity to hear the word of God and live by it. The agreed daily wage is God’s
agreement with any of his believers that once they listen to the word of God
and put it into action in their daily life then they will get their reward which
is life in the Kingdom of Heaven. The work day in this parable represents a
person’s life on earth.
Jesus used this parable to explain that whether you hear the word of God and
put it action as a young child or whether you only hear about the word of God
and put it into action later in life the reward is exactly the same, eternal life
in the Kingdom of Heaven.
You put the word of God into action when you avoid anything in your every-
day life that is unworthy of the gospel of Christ.
Car Parking
Since the consolidation of Weekend Masses, carparking remains an issue, es-
pecially in keeping the carpark entrances and exits clear, for the unhindered
access of emergency vehicles. We again ask for your patience and coopera-
tion with the following:
• Please do not park in the reserved spaces for resident and visiting Priests.
• Please do not park in any of the clear ways marked out by yellow lines.
These areas are essential to allow unrestricted access to emergency ser-
vices at all times . They also allow for the safe two-way flow of traffic.
• Please do not move traffic cones, they are there for a reason.
• It is inevitable that double parking will be required. If you have to double
park, we would respectfully ask that you return to your car as quickly as
possible, so as not to impede other vehicles.

Autumn Dues envelopes are now available in the sacristy. We are requesting
volunteers to deliver the envelopes in their own area. Your help is much ap-
preciated.
Social Tea and coffee and chats today Sunday 20th September after 10.30am
Mass in Parish Centre and on every 3rd Sunday of the month. Come for the
chat.
Choir Practice: Will resume very shortly for the St Joseph ’s Children's
Church Choir. We practice in St Joesph’ s Church on Wed from 7pm until
7.45pm. We have 3 practices per month and sing at the monthly Family
Mass. We are looking for new members to join us. Boys/Girls aged from first

Cork Scripture Group : Cork Scripture Group would like to invite anyone
who is interested in Scripture to join us for the following course. 4 Monday
nights (28th September, 5th, 12th and 19th October) on ‘I, Paul, The Life and
Letters of St Paul.’ Presenters: Sean O’Sullivan, Marian Mortell, Phil Mor-
tell. Saturday workshop (October 10th) on ‘Two contrasting prison letters:
Philemon and Philippians’ facilitated by Sr. Mary T. Brien PBVM. Cost: €50
for the entire course including workshop (€10 for those who wish to attend
