World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation was held on September 1st and
prayers for the Season of Creation will run until October 4th.
A Prayer for Our Earth: -
All powerful God, you are present in the whole universe
and in the smallest of your creatures.
You embrace with your tenderness all that exists.
Pour out upon us the power of your love,
that we may protect life and beauty.
Fill us with peace that we may live
as brothers and sisters, harming no one.
O God of the poor ,
help us to rescue the abandoned and forgotten of this earth,
so precious in your eyes.
bring healing to our lives,
that we may protect the world and not prey on it,
that we may sow beauty, not pollution and destruction.
Touch the hearts
of those who look only for gain
at the expense of the poor and the earth.
Teach us to discover the worth of each thing,
to be filled with awe and contemplation,
to recognise that we are profoundly united
with every creature
as we journey towards your infinite light.
We thank you for being with us each day.
Encourage us, we pray, in our struggle
for justice, love and peace.

feel there is a possibility that God may be
calling you to be a diocesan priest, then our
monthly Discernment Group Meetings may
be a good way to help you to discern this
call. It is a gentle non committal first step in t he
process which takes the form of a monthly meeting
with other men discerning their call. The monthly
meetings offer an opportunity for prayer,
conversation, fellowship and accompaniment.
An experienced spiritual director will also be
provided to help guide you along the path.

Sunday following September 25th to honour St. Finbarr,
Patron of Cork. The feast day of St. Finbarr, Patron Sai nt
of the Diocese of Cork is celebrated on September 25th .
This year pilgrims will gather in
Gougane Barra on September 27th to celebrate
‘Gougane Sunday’

*** Rosary at 2.30pm
*** Mass will begin at 3.00pm ,
with Bishop Fintan as the main
celebrant. Everyone welcome to
join in this special celebration of our local Saint.
Thank You - Used Stamp Appeal
The Medical Missionaries of Mary are most grateful to
you all for your gift of used stamps . Know that they
appreciate your great work for the Missionary Church,
and the money from the used stamps makes a huge
difference to the lives of the needy people whom MMM
serve on the Missions.
Your intentions will be remembered in their Community
Prayers. Two packed black bags full of stamps have
already been donated by you all. Your continued good
work is much appreciated, boxes in churches for stamps.
