Hello children. Today Jesus talks to us
about forgiveness – about how God is
always ready to forgive us if we say sorry
and about how we should try to forgive
others if they say sorry to us.
This week let’s try our best to say sorry
when we have done something wrong,
and to forgive and help others.
God of love, help us to share your
forgiveness with others. Guide us to do
what is right and to make this world a
fairer place for all who live in it.
Amen.

The Medical Missionaries of Mary will
speak at all Masses in the parish on
26th and 27th September of their work,
mainly in Africa and South America, and
their mission to bring Christ’s healing
love to those most in need. Our parish
and our diocese have supported MMM
generously in the past, both in finance
and in prayer, and MMM wishes to
express gratitude for that support and to
emphasise that we here at home are the
body of mission, and those who are sent
to faraway places are the hands and the
feet. When they speak to us and share
their story they serve as a connection
between us and those whom they serve.
A meeting for all Pioneers who are
interested in helping to renew and
strengthen the Pioneer Association in
Down & Connor will take place on
Sunday 27 September at 3.00 pm in
Holy Family Gathering Space, Holy
Family Church, Newington Avenue,
Belfast. We would be delighted to
welcome as many Pioneers as possible.

As we celebrate the feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross , on Monday 14th September,
let us “glory in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, in whom is our salvation, life and
resurrection, through whom we are saved and delivered.”
May Christ be in our mind, in our lips, in our heart, in our ac tions, in our life. But if this
noble and holy desire were to come true, let us not forget that to follow Chr ist and to live His
life necessarily require carrying His Cross and all that it entails, not with mere r esignation,
but with joyful acceptance and for Love.
“O God, who willed that your Only Begotten Son should undergo the Cross to save the
human race, grant, we pray, that we who have known his mystery on earth may merit the
grace of his redemption in heaven. Through our Lord Jesus Christ Your Son, who lives
and reigns with You, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, One God, forever and ever. Amen.”
Prayer to Our Lady of Sorrows
Our mother of sorrows, with strength from above you stood by the c ross, sharing in the
sufferings of Jesus, and with tender care you bore him in your ar ms, mourning and weeping.
We praise you for your faith, which accepted the life God planned for you. We praise you
for your hope, which trusted that God would do great things in you. We praise you for your
love in bearing with Jesus the sorrows of his passion.
Holy Mary, may we follow your example, and stand by all your children who n eed comfort
and love. Mother of God, stand by us in our trials and care for us in our many needs. Pray
for us now and at the hour of our death.
