Gospel Reflection:
Be persistent… and patient…
Our Gospel today is about persistence… just
as the widow in the story pesters the judge
until he delivers a just decision we too are
called to be persistent.
Persistence in prayer demonstrates that we
are not afraid to show our dependence on God
even though all around us society says we
need be self-sufficient, to look after
ourselves. To keep praying is equally looking
after ourselves but also the needs of those
around us and the needs of our world. The
widow in the story is concerned about the
delay in getting a response, however we must
not only must persevere in prayer we must be
patient, awaiting God’s time for an answer
and accepting the answer even though it may
not be one we wanted! God will always give
the right answer to our prayers, even if in the
immediate moment it may not seem that way.
Take time to reflect on what have been the
fruits of your own persistent prayer? When
you have patiently waited for God’s time and

Joint Meeting of Our Lady Crowned Church, St

7.00pm at Our Lady Crowned Church. November – Holy Souls Novena 2025
Envelopes and lists are now available in our
churches.
Annual Remembrance Masses 2025
This year our Remembrance Masses will take place
Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th November in our three
churches.
Discernment Group Meetings for men interested in the
Diocesan Priesthood
A series of monthly gatherings will take place for men aged
between 18 and 40 who are considering the Diocesan
Priesthood. Each month at these gatherings there will be an
opportunity for input, time of reflection and prayer. If you are
interested, further information and registration can be
obtained by emailing Fr Cian O’Sullivan on
vocations@corkandross.org
Altar Servers
During this month of OCTOBER, we are inviting
Girls and Boys from 3rd Class upwards to
become Altar Servers in our 3 Churches. We
are asking all parents to encourage their
children to consider The Ministry of Altar
Server. Full training will be given.
