We thank you, the parishioners, for your
continued co-operation, understanding,
goodwill, support and most importantly
your prayers as we come to terms with
the current and future situation that we
find ourselves in this Family of Parishes.
Cork & Ross Lourdes
Pilgrimage The Cork and Ross diocese
is in Lourdes at present. Altogether there
are over 430 people on the pilgrimage
including a group of about 30 people
who are travelling as pilgrims, helpers
and assisted pilgrims with Glounthaune parish. They are taking part in the
various ceremonies that are part of this
and every pilgrimage to Lourdes.
The highpoint of all pilgrimages to
Lourdes is the celebration of Mass at the
Grotto which for the Cork and Ross
pilgrimage will be on Tuesday of this
week at 7.30am (Irish time).
The Grotto Mass and the other
ceremonies e.g. Blessed Sacrament
Procession, Torchlight Procession can
be viewed on the Lourdes TV website
and updates will also be posted on the
diocesan website.
Please keep in your prayers all those
who are travelling on the pilgrimage,
especially the sick and assisted pilgrims,
as we will pray and light candles for
those who have asked us to remember
them during our time in Lourdes.

Priesthood Education Fund
This annual collection takes place in
parishes across the diocese this
weekend. This fund plays a vital role in
supporting the formation and ongoing
education of those serving in priestly and
diaconal ministry.
We are deeply aware of the financial
challenges that many individuals and
families face at this time.
Nevertheless, we kindly ask you to
support this collection with your usual
generosity. Your continued support in
encouraging and promoting vocations here in this diocese through your
financial contributions and your prayers
is very much appreciated.
Priesthood in Cork and Ross
If you are between the ages of 18 and 40
and feel there is a possibility that God
may be calling you to be a diocesan
priest, then our monthly discernment
group meetings may be a good way to
help you discern this call.
It is a gentle first step in the process
which takes the form of a monthly
meeting.
These monthly meetings offer an
opportunity for prayer, conversation,
fellowship and accompaniment. The first
meeting takes place on Saturday next,
26th September.

Heart Church, Glounthaune and St.
Joseph’s Church, Little Island are
continuously monitored via 24/7
livestream.
Please be aware that if you are present
in these areas, your image and actions
may be captured on the livestream.
Ireland’s Biggest Coffee Morning
Now in its 33rd year, this annual
fundraiser for the hospice movement is
taking place in communities in many
parts of the country. Please come along
to support and be part of this special
coffee morning in aid of Marymount
Hospital and Hospice on Thursday next,
24th September, after the 10.00am Mass
in St. Joseph’s Church, Little Island. We
look forward to seeing you there.
Glounthaune Tidy Towns
The Annual General Meeting will take
place on Thursday week, 1st October, at
8pm in Glounthaune Community Centre.
