It is not easy to understand the mind of God. He sees goodness
where we see none; he showers blessings where none seem to be
deserved. Yet even with our limited vision we can be sure he is
near us whenever we call him.

SMA NOVENA TO St. Thérèse
Due to the ongoing repair to our Church roof on the
Blackroad Road, we will be celebrating St. Thérèse’s Novena
in our SMA Church in Wilton, Cork City T12 KR23.
The Novena will begin on Wednesday 23rd September and
will close on Thursday 1st October. The Novena Mass will be
celebrated each evening at 7.30p.m. (except Saturday 26th
September @ 6p.m. Mass). Each evening, we will have a
different SMA priest leading the Mass and he will be joined
by a guest choir/singer.
Mass Animated by Young Adults
A Mass animated by young adults takes place on the second Sunday of each
month 7p.m. in Ss Peter and Paul’s Church.
Hosted by the City Centre Family of Parishes , this Mass offers a welcoming
space for young adults to gather, pray and grow in faith together.
The Annual collection for the Priesthood Education Fund, will be taken up at
all Masses this weekend.
Holy Cross Church Mahon is celebrating 40-years since the establishment
of our church. To celebrate this milestone, we are delighted to host a
Triduum, led by the Redemptorists on Monday 21st/Tuesday 22nd/ and
Wednesday 23rd September beginning at 7.30p.m. each night.
All are welcome to attend.
Garda Forum Meeting
Our next Garda Forum meeting will be held at the
Community Centre on Monday 21st September at
8.00p.m. Come along if you have any concerns in your
area that you wish to discuss. Get the latest updates
from our Community Gardaí. Local Councillors have
been invited to attend
Light refreshments will be served after the meeting.
Thinking about being a Priest in the Diocese of Cork & Ross?
If you are between the ages of 18 and 40 and feel there is a possibility that
God may be calling you to be a diocesan priest, then our monthly
Discernment Group Meetings may be a good way to help you to discern this
call. It is a gentle non-committal first step in the process which takes the
form of a monthly meeting with other men discerning their call. The monthly
meetings offer an opportunity for prayer, conversation, fellowship and
accompaniment. An experienced spiritual director will also be provided to
help guide you along the path. The first meeting takes place on Saturday

St. Joseph’s SMA Parish Roof Fundraising
Concert
To be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church on
Thursday 15th October at 7p.m.
The Irish Cancer Society are looking for volunteer
drivers to drive patients to and from cancer treatments.
If you can spare 2 days per month, have a valid driving
licence, and a safe, reliable vehicle, you are the perfect
candidate to make a significant difference. The Irish
Cancer Society will provide you with training before you
start as a driver for us. Your generosity not only eases
the journey for many during a challenging time but also
offers comfort and support when it ’s needed most.
