300 years of Faith, Hope & Healing - Celebrating the
Tercentenary of the Canonisation of St. Peregrine
(1726 - 2026): 3 Day Novena in honour of St.
Peregrine, 5th - 7th October 2026 in Holy Cross
Church, Lisnaskea at 7.00pm each evening. Guest
speakers each night:
Monday 5th: Martha Hughes, a native of Mayo now
living in Carrickmacross. She will share her cancer
journey - a story full of hope & encouragement.
Tuesday 6th: Frank Diamond, who is a team member
of the Mental Health charity ALPS ‘All lives are
Precious ’. Frank spent 9 years as a former missionary
in 3 African countries. He is a passionate advocate for
Down Syndrome as one of his four daughters has DS.
Wednesday 7th: Fr. Martin Hughes from the
Arch -diocese of Dublin. He will share his inspiring
story of his recovery from pancreatic cancer.

SVP Shop has relocated to 87 Main St, Lisnaskea
(opposite the Credit Union). If anyone wishes to
donate items, please drop them off at the new shop
during opening hours: Tuesday - Friday 10.30am to
4.30pm and Saturday 10.30am to 2.30pm. We welcome into the Christian community Jack
Paul Barrett and Luca McCusker who were baptised
last weekend in St. Mary ’s Church.
The Season of Creation: This year, we will unite
around the theme “Living Water ”, inspired by
Ezekiel 47:9 - a powerful biblical vision of hope and
ecological healing. It continues until 4th October.
Hope and Healing: After a sellout experience last
year, Fr John Flanagan, Truagh Parish, Monaghan,
returns to the Íontas Theatre, Castleblayney, Co.
Monaghan, Tuesday 3 November, 8.00pm, with
Celebrating Hope and Healing, a fusion of reflections
and music which delve into the themes of hope,
faith, forgiveness and inner healing, written &
delivered by Fr. John, offering the audience solace

The following prayer for strength was written by Pope
John 23rd. Some days we struggle to find the right
words or just struggle to get going with prayer. This
lovely prayer could easily fill those moments.
Every day, I need you Lord, but today especially I
need some extra strength to face whatever is to
come. This day, more than any other day, I need to
feel you near me to strengthen my courage and to
overcome my fear. By myself I cannot meet the
challenge of the hour. We are frail human creatures
and we need a Higher Power to sustain us in all that
life may bring. And so dear Lord, hold my trembling
hand. Be with me Lord, this day and stretch out your
powerful arm to help me. May your love be upon me
as I place all my hope in you. Amen.
Chair based exercise classes starting in St Mary's

Culture Night - Public viewing of the Erne East Town-
lands Jigsaw - Friday 18th September, Castle Park
Centre. Jigsaw on display 7 -9pm. Townlands talk 7 -
8pm. Everyone welcome. Admission free. John Paul II Awards: The parish is now recruiting
new members for our John Paul II Group, for the
2026/27 year. This group is open to any young person
who is post GCSE (currently in yr 13) or in vocational
training. The group caters for those who are interest-
ed in becoming more active in parish and community

90th Birthday Celebrations: Margaret Maguire, Congo
