Mass is not just a personal act of devotion; it is a communal act of worship. We go to God together. The Sunday Mass is where the Church is most visibly alive, 'and where every member of the community plays an essential role. Each per son's participation is needed for the Church to truly live. 'We are deeply thankful to priests, ministers and all those who gather to celebrate Mass. Special gratitude goes to those involved in liturgical ministries, such as Ministers of the Word, of Holy Communion, Music Ministers, Sacristans, and Altar Servers. E ncouraging the return of young people as Altar Servers is especially important and should be actively supported by their families and parish. St. Mary of the Visitation Parish, Killybegs Parish Office, Killybegs, Co. Donegal, F94 CY56 Tel: +353 (0)74 9731013 Parish Secretary : Ann O ’Donnell ( Office Open: Mon to Fri. 9.45am to 2.45pm) Email : info@killybegsparish.com Website : killybegsparish.com Parish Priest: Fr. Colm Ó Gallchóir : Tel: 074 9731013 Masses and Services: Live streaming www.mcn.live (link on website) Gratitude invites us to notice God's loving presence in the ordinary moments of each day. Whether shared in a kind word, a quiet sunrise, or the simple gift of time with those we love, these everyday blessings remind us that grace is never far away. As we cultivate thankful hearts, we begin to see that even the smallest moments can become encounters with God's generous love, drawing us closer to him and inspiring us to share that love with others. A grateful heart sees God ’s hand in everything, the laughter of a friend, the gift of a new day, even the challenges that help us grow. Final Hymn: Whispering Hope Soft as the voice of an angel Breathing a lesson unheard Hope with a gentle persuasion Whispers her comforting word Wait ‘til the darkness is over Wait ‘til the tempest is done Hope for the sunshine tomorrow After the darkness is gone Whispering hope O how welcome thy voice Making my heart In its sorrow rejoice If in the dusk of the twilight Dim be the region afar Will not the deepening darkness Brighten the glimmering star Then when the night is upon us Why should the heart sink away When the dark midnight is over Watch for the breaking of day. The Meaning and Symbolism of the Brown Scapular The Scapular is a symbol of Mary ’s protection. It is a reduced form of the Carmelite habit. It involves ‘putting on Christ ’ in our lives and entrusting ourselves to Mary ’s protection. It includes the idea of consecration to Mary. Consecration is properly an act done by God, so that when we say we consecrate ourselves to God and to Mary, we are principally stating that we freely want God ’s will to be done in our lives. We want the Lord Jesus to rule all we say and do. The wearing of the Scapular is a sign that we want the values lived out by Mary to be evident in our actions and dispositions.
