Annual Parish Census 2026 A count of attendance takes place at all Masses this weekend, 25 & 26 April 2026 . The annual parish census captures valuable information about the numbers, ages, and gender of people attending Mass. This information helps the Diocese and parishes to identify pastoral priorities, make plans to address them, and provide support to our faith communities. As you arrive at Mass, you are given a small counter for yourself and for each person in your family group and are asked to place the counters in baskets labelled according to age. Red counters for females and blue counters for males. The baskets are labelled with age bands and the number of counters for each age band are recorded after each Mass. The vigil will begin with Holy Mass at 7pm on Monday, 3rd August, and conclude with Holy Mass at 7pm on Tuesday, 4th August. Throughout the 24 hours, the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed for Eucharistic Adoration. Central to their role is ensuring that every family experiences their Parish as a place of genuine welcome and encouraging faith within the home beyond the day of their Baptism.
